Coronavirus Update: Ferrari F1 and Road-car Factories Closed

Coronavirus pandemic has made things worse for everyone as Ferrari F1 and Road Car Factories Closed to limit the bad effects.

The F1 branch of Ferrari lives in Maranello. Following the major coronavirus outbreak in Italy, many of the factories and businesses have shut down. Reducing the effects is not getting easier with time for the Italian Government as well. The lockdown calmed the public nerves a bit. Referring to Ferrari’s operations in Italy, the shut-down would remain to exist until March 27.

Ferrari F1 and Road-car Factories Closed

In light of recent events, the company itself released the statement confirming their agreement with the Italian Government’s orders on Coronavirus. The outline of the statement read that the company’s main idea was to ensure the safety of its employees. Furthermore, they are taking all the preventive measures to meet the requirements of health standards. These standards are in complete compliance with the WHO safety measures released just a few days ago.

Because the employees have now stopped working in the production line of Ferrari, the company now faces a serious threat from the supply chain. The importance of health cannot be underestimated. Therefore, Ferrari is in the midst of taking bold decisions regarding the future of car production.

The company also insisted the work related to non-manufacturing units “will continue on a regular basis” via remote workplaces. Remote work is not the standard among many companies that face the challenge of producing goods and services while also guaranteeing the safety of their workers.

Dutch and Spanish Grand Prix Talk

The exact date of the start of the 2020 F1 season stays unknown for now. However, F1 expects the races to start at the end of May. The first Grand Prix planned to be held in Australia was canceled. Later, the next two races in Bahrain and Vietnam were also postponed. Before all these races, the Chinese Grand Prix 2020 had already been postponed.

Next races according to the 2020 F1 calendar are the Dutch GP and the Spanish GP which should take place in early May. However, the event organizers of both races have said that they are sharing their concerns with Formula 1. The situation could turn in favor of all the parties involved in the F1 races to come if the impact of coronavirus reduces with time. Although, as it stands, any reduction seems unlikely.
