Lando Norris is among the young lads in F1 racing to bring smiles back to our faces in a difficult period. The aim was simple: raise money for COVID-19 Solidarity Respond Fund and that is exactly what he did. After raising more than $10,000, Lando had to fulfill his promise to shave his head. He has taken a while though because he still needs clippers that are missing at the moment to shave his head. Thursday is the day that he cuts his hair short.
Besides the usual jokes, his Virtual Racing commitment has been going the distance. Ever since the Australian GP got canceled, the lively McLaren driver has bonded with the online community so well. People love his racing even if he is not scoring too many points. Following his fame in the virtual world, Formula 1 took a page out of his book to form a Virtual Grand Prix Series. The series includes all the canceled and postponed races thus far. In addition to taking part in the Virtual GP, Lando also committed some of his time to the #ChallengeLando event.
‘Baldo Norris’ is the new name he is going for. When it comes to cutting his hair, he did admit he is not that good. But he will still have to cut his hair now. It is too late to take his words back. Although, he also said that he is not planning on going with the completely bald look. He might “do a number four on top or the back” or really anything that gets the job done. We are already in a battle against the coronavirus. Let’s all cut Lando some slack here.
